first warm night

about

I subscribed to an email list, Nonsense-NYC, that was a listing of “alternative” events. This was the best entry ever. A very cryptic ad, saying be at such-and-such a park at 5pm on some Saturday in May and you’ll find out what to do from there. I hadn’t really planned on going, but happened to be in the neighborhood around the right time and went to check it out: all sorts of crazy! Tubas. Fairies. Butterfly wings. Drums. Eventually, someone handed us a card that said someone would give a signal and we should all board the F train. The police were following everything. The signal happened, hundreds of us boarded the train, upon which the party continued, then everyone got off (police, too) and walked to Red Hook and the party continued from there. It never happened again.

about

Andrea La Rose Prague, Czechia

My music is often about a lack of clarity and how performers and listeners make decisions about what they hear. When it's not about that, it's about clapping.
